I
am pleased that MPs have rejected the Senior Salaries Review Board's recommendation for a 2.56% rise, and instead accepted a pay rise of 1.9%, which is in keeping with other public sector salaries.
I believe it is right that MPs should impose the same restraints on their own pay as we are calling for across the public sector, which is vital to keeping inflation under control.
