The recent flooding in several parts of the Warwick and Leamington constituency has been a tragedy for the affected households. For some it's not the first time. I have visited many of the affected families and seen for myself the terrible damage done to their homes.

I am calling on Severn Trent to carry out a thorough and objective survey of the existing storm and surface drainage systems. I think many of our local systems are hopelessly inadequate and unable to cope with the more extreme patterns of rainfall that we are now experiencing. I think there is no alternative but to carry out the necessary investment in replacing key parts of the infrastructure.
