Warwickshire Police shows improvement in all categories
Warwick and Leamington MP, James Plaskitt, has today welcomed the 2006/07 Police Performance Assessment, published on 10th October. The annual assessments, undertaken by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary, provide a comprehensive view on the effectiveness of key policing
services and whether they have improved or not.
Assessment is based on the following key areas:
-
Tackling Crime
-
Serious Crime & Public Protection
-
Protecting Vulnerable People
-
Implementation of Neighbourhood Policing
-
Satisfaction & Fairness
-
Local Priorities
-
Resources & Efficiency
In all areas Warwickshire’s force has earned a higher grading than last year and is now considered to be providing 'acceptable' levels of service
in all areas of performance, with five identified as good.
Mr Plaskitt said, “Warwickshire has made welcome progress since last year’s assessment. Increased Government investment has made a
real difference to the forces delivery in the key areas of tackling crime, public protection and neighbourhood policing.”
Mr Plaskitt added, “The performance report is very encouraging and shows clear progress. I am sure the Chief Constable will commit to securing further progress in those
areas where the report shows we can still do better.”
