Under Labour, police numbers are up and crime is down.
Warwickshire police force is now at record strength, with over 1000 officers. Their work is supported by a strong team of Community Support Officers. Warwickshire was one of the first forces in the country to introduce the government’s new neighbourhood force strategy. This means that every community has a dedicated local team of police. For more information about your local team, see Safer Neighbourhood Teams.
Our record levels of investment in policing, and the new structures, are proving effective.
Over the last year, crime in Warwickshire has fallen by 12%. There have been particularly large falls in vehicle crime – down 24%, burglary – down 17%, and criminal damage – down 10%. Violent crime is down by 2.5%.
Across our county as a whole there were 5,279 fewer victims of crime last year.
