James has backed a campaign by Sydenham residents calling for traffic calming measures to be introduced.

James is backing the campaign by local residents to have safer roads.  Sydenham Drive has seen a number of back accidents, with one fatality this year already.  Gainsborough Drive is also subject to some dangerously fast driving by some thoughtless drivers, and as it goes through the heart of a large residential area, this is potentially very dangerous.  James has invited the police to do more detailed surveys of traffic speed in the area, and this has now been done.  The results are being analysed. 

James will also be pressing the county council, as the highways authority, to review speed limits in this area.
